Tuition Based Full-Day Kindergarten

Everett Public Schools offers a tuition based full-day kindergarten option at the following schools:

Cedar WoodForest ViewMill Creek

Boys reading

Penny CreekSilver Firs

Starting and ending times coincide with grades one through five schedules at each school. If a full-day kindergarten program does not reach a minimum enrollment level, the class will be converted to a regular half-day program.

Tuition

The tuition for students in the full-day program for the 2015-2016 school year is $3,480.00. A deposit of $100.00 is required at the time of registration and is non-refundable unless not enough students enroll to offer the program. At the time of registration, you will need to complete a Full-Day Kindergarten Application and the Agreement for Optional Full-Day Kindergarten form.

Three payment options are available after the $100.00 deposit has been made:

  • Annual: a one time payment of $3,380.00 due on September 1, 2015;
  • Semester: two payments in the amount of $1,690.00 due September 1, 2015 and February 1, 2016; or
  • Equal Monthly: ten equal automated monthly payments in the amount of $338.00 are due the first of each month starting September 1, 2015 and ending June 1, 2016.

If your child is in a WaKIDS full-day classroom, tuition will be pro-rated for the adjusted beginning of the year schedule.

While there is no tuition reduction for families who qualify for the free or reduced lunch program, the Everett Public Schools Foundation offers a limited number of partial scholarships for qualified applicants. Tuition assistance applications are available at your school office. Completed application forms must be returned to the school office by Friday, May 22, 2015.

To see if you qualify for tuition assistance, refer to the USDA Income Guidelines.

Enrollment

Initial tuition based full-day kindergarten enrollment will take place between Monday, February 2 and Friday, February 6 at noon. If at this time over 24 neighborhood students are enrolled, a lottery will be held. The lottery will determine which area students will be in the full-day class, as well as the waitlist order for filling future openings from neighborhood students. After February 6, neighborhood enrollment will be on a first come first serve basis. Full-day kindergarten variance requests are considered after neighborhood applicants and will be placed on a separate waitlist.
