Cedar Wood encourages all dads and other male adult volunteers to become WatchDOGS. This national program is another way that parent volunteers serve the school. Dads and other adult male volunteers spend the entire day at school greeting students as they arrive, assisting in classrooms and helping supervise lunch and recesses. Many dads sign up on their child's birthday or their wedding anniversary.
There are three easy steps to serving as a Watch Dog at Cedar Wood.
Step 1 - Become an approved Everett School District Volunteer
Every volunteer at Cedar Wood must have current approval from the Everett School District. Unapproved volunteers will be turned away until they have completed the process. Approvals are good for three years. If you are uncertain of your approval status you may contact Rhoda Onken, Assistant Cedar Wood Office Manager, at email@example.com. If you have not yet applied for volunteer approval or if your approval has expired you will need to complete the district volunteer form at this link. https://jobs2.everett.k12.wa.us/winocular/volunteer/
Step 2 - Pick a date
Cedar Wood can host up to two Watch D.O.G.S. volunteers each day. Please give us at least one week's notice so that Mr. Coleman can create a schedule for your visit and give the teachers a heads-up. Once you've made a choice please email Scott Simonsen at firstname.lastname@example.org. If your availability changes please email Scott Simonsen and he will remove you from the schedule.
Step 3 - Enjoy your day at school
Please arrive at school at 8:45 AM to meet with Mr. Coleman, the School Counselor. He will provide you with the official Watch D.O.G.S. vest, a name badge, and your schedule for the day. You will enjoy a full day on campus including lunch with your student(s). Except for early release days the Watch Dog volunteer time ends at 3:40 PM.

Thank You for Volunteering.
