Welcome to 6th Grade Social Studies!
I am so excited to be joining the Everett and Eisenhower community this year! I am originally from a very small town in New England, but am excited to be now living on the west coast! I have a Bachelor's Degree in History, Political Science, and Secondary Education from Saint Michael's College in Burlington, VT, and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Washinton: Seattle (Go Huskies!). I taught 7/8th History/ELA in and worked in a variety of alternative middle school programs while in VT, and previously taught High School History/Social Studies in CT for three years before venturing out west to attend UW in 2015. I fell in love with the west coast and decided to stay after I finished my degree. After working in educational research and as a TA and tutor for undergraduate teacher candidates the past two years, I'm excited to return to the classroom!
I love being outside and when I'm not in the classroom I'm out exploring the beautiful PNW hiking, kayaking, biking, or paddleboarding. I also love baking, cooking, and traveling. I hope to someday visit every state in the U.S., every U.S. National Park, and check off a more few countries too!
I'm excited to work together to make this year a great one. Please use this page to find helpful resources for each unit, a class calendar with upcoming homework assignments and due dates, and a link to our online textbook. Please e-mail me or call me with any questions or concerns!
I am very excited to have your student in my class this year and am looking forward to a year full of learning, growth, and development!
