- Spectrum Math --in each section of these straightforward workbooks, there is a pretest, practice problems with examples, word problems, and a posttest. They are published by McGraw-Hill. The grade 7 ISBN is 1-57768-117-7; the grade 8 ISBN is 1-57768-118-5. There are also lower grade levels available.
- Pre-Algebra --another workbook with pages that address many of the topics covered in middle school math. There are not as many examples in this book, but it is laid out well and covers a wider variety of math topics. It is published by Frank Schaffer Publications, a division of McGraw-Hill. The ISBN is 0-86734-922-0.
There are many tutoring centers in this area. You can also get a private tutor by asking friends, neighbors, relatives, the local high schools, or others in the community.

They have programs that can help you with catching up in math, reading, and writing, and they have a study skills program and an SAT program. In addition, some centers will do the program on-line with the students instead of at the tutoring center.

They can help you with catching up in math or reading. On average, students only go to the centers once a week to work with the tutor, but they are given specialized skill sheets to work on at home in between tutoring appointments.

This center only does programs that can help you with catching up in math. They run their payment program in a similar fashion to a gym membership: you pay for a month at a time and go as often as you want.
