Field Trips for Gateway 8th Graders
All 8th graders at Gateway will attend a field trip to the University of Washington Seattle Campus in May. In January 8th grade students take a survey where they request what department at the University of Washington they want to visit while on campus as well as pick a second field trip they can attend. Here are the additional field trips 8th graders are able to choose from:
Sno-Isle Skill Center - Friday, March 30, 2018 11:30am - 1:00pm
Sno-Isle TECH is a public school offering technical training for high school students within Snohomish County and South Whidbey. Our 8th graders are able to take a tour of the facility and see what programs are offered.
Students of Color Career Conference - Thursday, March 29, 2018 8am - 1:30pm
The mission of the conference is to educate and inform middle and high school students of color about various career options, and to encourage students to think big, to dream big, to believe that success through education is possible, and to believe it is well within reach.
What's your dream?
To be an astronaut? A Hollywood star? The scientist that discovers the cure for AIDS? You might not think your dreams mean much but we have a panel of successful local people who are going to tell you otherwise. Your dreams are where it all starts. If you can dream it, you can achieve it!
Come spend a few hours
Everett Community College's Annual Students of Color Career Conference is geared towards middle and high school students of color in the Snohomish County area. This conference provides students with an easy and comfortable forum to meet and ask questions of many of our area's most prominent professionals of color. Hear from those who have gone before you; they can be your most valuable teachers.
