SCIENCE
Our school district has three science units for us to work on this year. They are:
Soils -- We'll learn the three components of soil, analyze local soil, and do lots of experiments. (Yes, our classroom will get dirty...and that's okay.) It's all happening this fall.
Changes in Matter -- Solid, liquid, gas, and back again. After we learn / review some basics, students put the scientific process to use by creating and carrying out their own experiments. What a perfect science unit for winter, when the weather outside will have us thinking a lot about solids, liquids and gases.
Sound --What makes sound? How can we describe its properties? Can we find ways to SEE sound? Some strange noises will be coming out of our room during this unit in the spring.
