End of Course (EOC) Exam
What is the EOC exam?
Math EOCs are based on the Washington State Learning standards in math, and are available in algebra 1 and geometry. They are different from tests like Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBA), which are comprehensive and assess overall content-area knowledge. The End of Course exams in math are being phased out as the required graduation exam in math. Beginning with the class of 2019, students will be required to pass the SBA in math or an approved alternative in order to graduate.
Who takes the EOC exam?
EOC math is only available to students through the Class of 2018. Beginning with the Class of 2019, students must pass the Smarter Balanced Assessment in math.
When is the EOC exam administered?
The winter window for the 2017-18 school year is January 2 - February 2, 2018.
The spring window for the 2017-18 school year is May 7 - June 8, 2018.
