If there is an emergency at a school in which it isn’t safe or practical for families to pick up students, students and staff will most likely be transported by bus to Everett Memorial Stadium. Once at the stadium, students and staff will sit under the covered bleachers.
The district contacts parents about reunification plans using the mass communication system, which sends by phone, email and text message. Parents and guardians will receive messages about the reunification plan from the district communication system. Parents and guardians will enter from the north side of the stadium on Oakes Ave.
Parents and guardians show their IDs and paperwork at the check-in table to pick up only the students they are authorized to pick up. Staff members confirm the parent is authorized to pick up the student. As parents’ identities and authorizations are verified, authorized district staff will come retrieve students from the bleachers.
Reunited students and parents will exit the stadium using a secure pathway.
Local police and emergency responders have trained with us. They are prepared for these kinds of situations and will be onsite providing security and support.
