• Soccer Club:  This is an optional EPS elementary school activity.  Soccer club is offered at no charge and without any experience or requirements. Silver Lake offers its soccer club after school one day a week from 3:30-4:30, usually for grades 3rd-5th grades.
      • Students learn and practice skills, conditioning, and engage in various soccer-related activities and games.  The goal is that all students are active and involved, so often smaller games providing more contact with the ball are used versus full scrimmages.
      • Form and accuracy are emphasized and any power kicks are not to be used. We do not use goalie positions. If your student is interested have them look for the handout that is distributed in September and then again in March.
      • A signed permission slip and a concussion awareness sheet are needed prior to participation.
      • Transportation home is not provided by the district - all students make arrangements to walk or to be picked up (which needs to be indicated on the permission slip).  Volunteers are welcome; please call the school.  Questions? Please contact Mrs. Bence.
    • Mustang Milers: A walking-jogging mileage club was started at Silver Lake over seven years ago. It utilizes the track around a portion of the school's field.Any participation is optional.
      • Laps are recorded and students accomplishing set mileage (5 miles; 20 laps per token) are rewarded with plastic foot tokens.
      • The goal is to encourage more lifetime fitness activity and is usually offered one morning a week, from 8:30-850 am (students need to have their own transportation to school).
      • The program starts in the later part of September and runs through May. Volunteers are welcome; please contact the office.
