• logo Welcome to another fantastic year!

I LOVE GATEWAY! My children were students, and I was amazed at the fabulous education they gained. I feel fortunate and excited to be teaching here.  This is my third year teaching 8th and 7th ELA.  This year I will be teaching ELA 8 to 7th grade honor students and ELA 7.

A bit of history about me... I grew up in Grandview, Washington.  I attended the University of Washington after high school and graduated with a degree in English and teaching.  Later I received my Master’s from Seattle Pacific University in Reading and Language Arts.  I taught in Salzburg Austria for a couple of years after college; spent many years teaching and in leadership at Monroe High School, and then taught at Sky Valley Education Center for several years (an alternative school/PPP)  before coming to Gateway.  I have lots of experience teaching students of all levels and every end of the learning spectrum.  I am AP and Pre-AP trained and have taught AP courses for many years.  I have also taught College in the High School for EVCC.

My husband is an adjunct math teacher at LWIT and my two children:  Hunter (19) is a graduate of Jackson High School and is attending Seattle University; Hannah (18) is a senior at Jackson High School--education is our middle name! :)

I am very excited to have your student in class  and am looking forward to a year full of learning, growth, and development.
