Superintendent's Message, July 26, 2019

  • Dr. Ian B. Saltzman Dear neighbors:

I have been in the district one month now. As part of my 120-day entrance plan, I have spent a lot of time meeting with staff, administrators, board directors and community leaders. I have also spent time visiting the 10 different schools where summer school is being held. It has been great to see the engagement the teachers and staff have with the students and it’s clear by the smiles the time is productive.

As staff start their back-to-school work in August I will be spending much more time with school leadership and participating in many department kick-offs. I also want to make sure I have time to hear from our families and community, so I am scheduling three community listening events.

These events will be a time for me to meet you and hear directly from the community on what they think is going well in the district, what things may be improved upon, and any advice you have for me as your new superintendent.

I hope you can attend one of the times below.

    Central Region              August 12         Cascade High School                    6 – 7:15 p.m.

    North Region                August 28         Community Resource Center      6 – 7:15 p.m.

    South Region                August 29         Jackson High School                     6 – 7:15 p.m.
