If while you're at home you find that you need support with the technology we are using for remote learning, Mrs. Green has suggested to go here: https://www.everettsd.org/Page/32723. Hopefully it helps solve any issues that arise! Thank you for all that you're doing!

  • Check Out Other Jackson Teacher Websites!

Posted by Rita Trbic on 3/18/2020

We have an amazing staff at Jackson! Most of us are updating our websites with resources that make sense to our grade or role. There may be some overlap between the resources teachers suggest but if you check out other 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade teachers' websites you may come across some ideas you like that I don't have on here.

Specialists are constantly updating their sites to continue to meet the needs and wants of our students and families.

Ms. Paisley, Librarian for reading resources

Mrs. Allen, reading coach for reading resources

Mrs. Thompson, counsellor for social-emotional learning

There is a tab for Second Step lessons that Mrs. Thompson teaches every Tuesday. For the time being it is free for families! The class loves these lessons and they're great for building social/emotional awareness.

  • Canvas

Posted by Rita Trbic on 3/18/2020

Hi 4th Graders and Families! Thank you for checking out this page during our school closure. I will be posting messages in Canvas to check in with everyone and encourage us to stay connected while we are apart. There is also the ability to chat in case your child is missing friends or me and they just want to check in. I'll check in throughout the school day.

    To access Canvas from home:

Go to the district or school website.

    Click on the Student Tab.

Under Student Tools, click on Canvas.

It will have you sign in using your Student ID through Clever and then you will see your Canvas Dashboard.

Click on the 4th Grade Reading Tab.

You should see the links to My NG Connect, iReady, and Typing Club. To the left, you should see a menu in orange that lists Home, Announcements, Assignmentts, Modules, Accelerated Reader, Britannica School, Chat, and Pebble Go.

Currently teachers are learning new ways to use Canvas, so check back to see what else is added.

Please click on Announcements and you will see messages from me that you can respond to.
