    Listening at Home 

    Tips to help your child learn during this time of home learning 

    • Make sure equipment is working 
    • Clean earmolds daily 
    • Change batteries when dead 

    Do a listening check 

    • Wear devices at all times 
    • Eyes open, ears on 

    Focus on improving wear time, if not already a full-time user 

    • Listening Environments 
    • Minimize distractions, when possible 
    • Have your child listen in a quiet setting, for example, in their bedroom or a quiet room away from others  
    • Good lighting in the room  

    If possible, rugs help dampen background noises  

    • Listening through the computer 
    • If possible, use headphones with hearing aids, the over the ear headphones usually work best and position them over the hearing aid microphone 
    • If possible, use an FM or DM transmitter with auxiliary cord  
    • If possible, use bluetooth through hearing aid or remote device such as a ComPilot or EduMic
