As you may have read on my homepage, I have taught many subjects in my 15 years of teaching, but I finally jumped into the subject I've wanted to teach forever... math!
I was born and raised in the greater Everett area and attended Everett Public Schools for nearly my entire K-12 education. I attended Jefferson Elementary, Eisenhower Middle School, and graduated from Cascade High School.
For college, I completed my AA degree right here in Everett at Everett Community College. I then transferred to Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington, where I earned my bachelors degree in Secondary Education and my teaching certificate.
My first teaching assignment was in the Issaquah School District where I had an amazing experience helping to open a brand new school, Pacific Cascade Freshman Campus. There, I taught 9th Grade Social Studies and English. While teaching at PCFC, I began my masters degree program in Educational Leadership.
After completing three years in Issaquah, my wife and I moved back to Everett and I joined the team at Evergreen Middle School. While here, I finished my masters degree program and also earned my National Board certification. I've taught all three grades and almost every subject it seems. I've never been more excited about teaching a subject than I am about teaching math.
Personally, I love nothing more than spending time with my family. My wife and I have four kids, three of whom are Everett Public Schools students. My daughters, Mackenzie, Taylor, and Kate, are View Ridge Vikings, and my son, Max, will start kindergarten in just a couple more years. We're an active family that loves the outdoors. Walking, biking, playing at the beach, and camping have consumed our summer, as usual.
