Superintendent's Message, October 16, 2020
We are grateful for the outstanding partnerships we have with our school families, caregivers and community helping ensure students receive the best education possible while staying safe and healthy. While we are disappointed at the news the COVID cases in our county are rising, we are pleased to announce that with the precautions we are putting in place in our buildings and for our students and staff, we are ready to move to Stage 2 of our Learning Model on November 2.
Guidance from the Snohomish County Health District provided in their school start decision tree indicates we are still in the moderate activity level and able to bring back small groups of students in the highest need categories. Our hybrid stage 2 brings Developmental Kindergarten, STRIVE and Life Skills students back into the classroom five (5) days a week and Developmental Pre-K four (4) days a week.
These students, as all our students, also have the option to stay 100% remote. We will continue to watch COVID case trend lines and follow appropriate health and safety protocol as we plan to bring more students back to the classroom in the future.
