Jackson High School has been my home since 2005. I love this school! The students, the staff, the programs, and most importantly, the amazing school spirit. My goal is to engage kids in science and inspire them to continue in this field after my class. It's pretty amazing seeing former students graduate with their college degrees in Biology or related sciences. I'm committed to keeping things interesting and fun for you while asking you to rise to the fun/hard/many challenges I present you. After high school, it just gets harder!
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Washington in 2003 and a Master in Teaching from Seattle University in 2005. I also earned my National Board Teaching Certification in 2011. Outside of work I hang out with my husband James and our new little human, Maverick, and try to navigate the world of parenthood, but I also play volleyball all year-round, snowboard, and dabble in music here and there, having played in bands for over 10 years. I love sunny days, boating, insects, red heads, baby animals, clean feet, robotic personalities, and funny memes (especially about science).
I am very excited to have you (or your student) in my class this year and am looking forward to a year full of learning, growth, and development.
