World Language Assessment (WLA)
Optional fluency test in writing, reading, speaking, and listening of a non-English language for students in grades 7 through 12.
The World Language Assessment (WLA) is a set of tests of writing, reading, speaking, and listening available in many languages. Students in grades 7 through 12 can select a non-English language and earn up to 4 high school world language proficiency credits and may qualify for the Seal of Biliteracy at graduation if they can show they are fluent in writing, reading, speaking, and listening.
Registration is open August 27 - October 24 for Winter 2025-26 WLA. Individual test dates vary by school. Students can register at their school office.
Students sign up in the fall and test through winter. Every effort will be made to get any language students ask for. Contact your student's school for more details.
To register, students must turn in the below WLA Student Agreement Form and pay a $10.00 fee at their school office by October 24.
