Athletic Fees & Payment Information

The athletic fee helps cover costs like transportation, officials, and coaching stipends. All students must have an ASB card to participate in sports; the ASB fee supports uniforms and equipment. The athletic fee is required each season as part of the clearance process.

Students are eligible to compete once the fee is paid. High school sports: $100 per season. Middle school sports: $40 per season.

For cut sports, payment is due after teams are selected. For non-cut sports, pay on the first day of practice. Payment can be made at the school office (cash/check to Everett Public Schools) or online by credit card. The online portal opens after tryouts for cut sports and on the first day of tryouts for non-cut sports (see links below).

  • If your student qualifies for free/reduced lunch and you would like the fee waived, be sure to indicate this when registering your student in Final Forms and complete the
    Request for Athletic Fee Waiver

  • Completing the Child Nutrition Eligibility and Education Benefit (CNEEB) Application can connect your family with valuable resources, including free meals, reduced fees for athletics and activities, college application and testing discounts, scholarships, and other support. The application is simple, confidential, and takes about five minutes. To submit an application, click the below link:
Child Nutrition Eligibility and Education Benefit (CNEEB) Application

  • For students in grades 6–12, an annual consent form is also required to qualify for eligibility benefits related to athletics and ASB programs.

Sixth grade athletes do not compete, so are therefore not required to pay the athletic fee.

Eligibility Information & Grade Check Dates

Review your eligibility status by reading the WIAA Eligibility Checklist below. Additional Everett Public Schools requirements may apply (outlined in the Athletic Code below). Please contact your building athletic coordinator to have your questions answered.

WIAA Eligibility Checklist

The following dates are the official grade check dates for the Everett School District. Coaches may choose to check grades more frequently, but official probation or suspension will not occur unless the grades do not meet district standards on these dates. If a student does not meet WIAA  standards on any official grade check (passing 5 of 6 classes) that student is immediately ineligible or suspended. Only the building athletic administrator can determine athletic eligibility. Coaches may set higher academic standards than WIAA or the Everett School District if they wish. They must communicate such standards to parents and students at the beginning of the season, or they must revert to the Everett School District standards.

Grades will be checked ON the Friday of every other week.  While on probation, if the student fails any class, they will move to suspension (still practice but cannot compete). Those who are failing 1 class are on probation, so still able to practice and compete. Those failing 2 or more classes are unable to compete (on suspension) until they are passing again.
