The CTE Ambassador program allows students to help to provide student voice to our program in a variety of ways.
Dual Credit Opportunities allow students to earn both High School and College Credit at the same time without leaving their campus.
Worksite Learning allows students to earn high school CTE credit during their afterschool or weekend job.
Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) allow students to be involved in professional leadership associations that connect them to opportunities in school and after school!

Student ambassador requirements:

Currently in a CTE class or CTSO / CTE Club
Grade 10-12 only
2.5 GPA or above
Reliable transportation
Good communication skills
Willing to be present, participatory and contribute to discussions and event planning

Sign and submit the CTE Constitution and Expectations with a parent/guardian

In Washington State, CTE Dual Credit programs allow high school students to earn
college credits while taking career and technical education (CTE) courses. These programs partner with community or technical colleges.

Post-Graduation Path

CTE opportunities prepare students for direct entry into the workforce with industry certifications.
Specific Dual Credit opportunities provide students with opportunity to earn additional specialized skills or further post-secondary education.

Earn Two Credit types at once

Students earn both high school and college credits for completing CTE dual credit courses
Some of these college credits may apply toward technical degree or certificate programs.

Transferable Credits

CTE Dual Credit courses generally transfer to community or technical colleges in Washington State, such as Washington State Community and Technical Colleges.
They may not transfer as easily to four-year universities

Worksite Learning

"Worksite Learning" refers to a structured learning experience that takes place at a qualified worksite outside of the classroom. As part of a student’s educational or career plan, a certified Worksite Learning Coordinator in Career and Technical Education (CTE) supports both the student and employer throughout the process.

This includes providing guidance in skill development, conducting onsite observations, helping set learning goals, and regularly evaluating the student's progress. Worksite Learning packets can be found at each high school's Career Center or downloaded from the website for printing and completion.

How Do I Sign Up?

Worksite Learning packets can be found at each high school's Career Center or downloaded from the website for printing and completion.
Once students have completed the necessary forms, they should submit them to Mrs. Youngberg’s inbox in the Career Center.
After the paperwork is processed, Mrs. Youngberg, the Worksite Learning Coordinator, will schedule a meeting during the school day to discuss learning goals and review expectations.
The coordinator will also conduct a site visit to the student's place of employment and provide an orientation for the employer.
Students are required to submit their paystubs via email to Mrs. Youngberg (byoungberg@everettsd.org) monthly.
Once 180 hours of work have been completed, the employer will submit a final evaluation, and 0.5 credit will be awarded at the end of the semester.

When Can I Sign Up?

What is the Process?

Once you complete the paperwork and submit it, the Worksite Learning Coordinator (Bree Youngberg) will:
- meet with you at your school to set learning goals
- conduct an orientation with your employer.
You will then have Worksite Learning added to your schedule and you will submit paystubs via email to byoungberg@everettsd.org.
After you have reached 180 hours of documented work, you will be awarded credit on your transcript.
There are no penalties for not reaching the 180 hours, but you will not receive school credit.

Students practice leadership, explore career possibilities and engage in regional, local and national competitions while discovering their passions for learning and careers through Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs). These experiences are embedded in all CTE courses, extending to after school and open to all students.

Meet the Team

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. Members demonstrate knowledge and skills learned in the classroom in local and national competitions.

Educators Rising cultivates students to become educators who reflect the demographics of their communities and who are passionate about serving through public education.

FBLA is the largest career student business organization in the world whose mission is to inspire and prepare students to become business leaders in a global society through leadership experience.

FCCLA is a national student organization that provides personal growth, leadership development and career preparation opportunities for students in Family and Consumer Science education. Members develop skills through competition in Hospitality & Tourism, Visual Arts & Design, Education & Training and Human Services.

FFA is an organization that prepares students for leadership, personal growth and career success through agriculture education. Members are future chemists, veterinarians, government officials, entrepreneurs, researchers, international business leaders, teachers and professionals in many career fields.

HOSA empowers future health professionals to become leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration and experience. Members develop leadership and technical skill-based competencies through a program of motivation, awareness and recognition.

Mock Trial is a competition with legal professionals in our community work with students to develop an understanding of real life case law and the role of the court system in a democratic society. Members work as a team to become witnesses and attorneys to strategize the case.

Mock trial is for all students enrolled in Introduction to Law.

SkillsUSA is a national membership association serving students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations.

Technology Student Association (TSA) enhances personal development, leadership and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through competitions, and so much more.

The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) is a national nonprofit organization with approximately 90,000 student and professional members. EdTA’s mission is shaping lives through theatre education by: honoring student achievement in theatre and enriching their theatre education experience; supporting teachers by providing professional development, networking opportunities, resources, and recognition; and influencing public opinion that theatre education is essential and builds life skills.

Participation in Thespians is available for students enrolled in Technical Theater.

WCTSMA introduces students to a variety of sports medicine professions and prepares them for career success. Members develop leadership and educational opportunities in the field of sports medicine through competition and events. WCTSMA is offered at all high schools.
