KIT Program (Homeless/Foster Care)
Kids in Transition (KIT) supports Everett Public Schools students who are experiencing homelessness or are in foster care. KIT implements the McKinney‑Vento Homeless Education Act, which ensures students without a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence can attend school without barriers.
If your family is in a temporary or unstable living situation due to economic hardship, your student may qualify for additional support. KIT may help with school enrollment, supplies, academic support, fee assistance, and transportation.
Last year, more than 1,500 students received KIT services.
Contact Everett Public Schools KIT Staff at the school if you or someone you know is experiencing foster care or unstable housing.

Family Resource Centers (FRCs)
It is difficult for a child to learn when their basic needs aren't met. We try to remove those barriers by working with Everett Public Schools' families experiencing homelessness or housing instability by providing basic needs* and connecting families to available community resources.
*Basic needs items available will vary, as the FRCs are run by donation only. We meet with families referred by their local schools by appointment only.
Referral to FRCs
If you or someone you know is in need of services, please contact your student’s support staff at their school to see if the FRC services are a good fit for your situation.
Financial Support
