High School and Beyond Plan

The High School and Beyond Plan is a Washington State graduation requirement.  As an important step in transitioning to life after high school, the High School and Beyond Plan helps students focus on setting goals, as well as preparation and readiness for future work, career and/or college.

Starting in middle school, students work with their families and school staff to develop their High School and Beyond Plan.  Students continue to revise their plan each year through middle school and high school as their interests and/or goals change.

EPS to transition from Naviance to a new HSBP platform

Beginning in September 2026, our district will transition from Naviance to SchooLinks, the state-selected High School and Beyond Plan (HSBP) platform for Washington schools. This shift ensures alignment with state requirements while providing improved tools for students to explore their interests, plan for life after high school, and track progress toward their goals. SchooLinks also expands access for families, creating new opportunities to engage in their student’s planning process. More information, including access details and training resources, will be shared ahead of the launch.

Frequently Asked Questions

SchooLinks is now the district’s online High School and Beyond Plan tool.  SchooLinks enables students to create personalized High School and Beyond Plans by providing students tools to:

  • set personal goals and tasks;
  • build concrete steps to college and career planning;
  • search for colleges and training programs;
  • develop financial plans to meet post-secondary goals;
  • and explore careers based on personal skills and interests.

SchooLinks is accessible to middle school and high school students and their families.  School staff provide lessons beginning in 6th grade extending through their senior year, to help students access the tools in SchooLinks and explore their post-secondary options based on their personal interests. The lessons help guide students through the process of developing their own High School and Beyond Plan.
