Greetings from Sequoia!Students are back in person. Yay!I am working from the building. You can reach me by email: mmalley@everettsd.org. or by phone 425-385-5124The Everett School District adopted the Illustrative Math curriculum for high school math. I was on the adoption team last year and the team was 100% in support of this curriculum, published by Kendall Hunt. The curriculum is open source, which means anyone who would like to look through the curriculum has access to it. You can search for Kendall Hunt Illustrative Mathematics on your web browser and explore the curriculum. I will be using this curriculum for my Modified Geometry course, and will continue to use Modeling Our World with Mathematics for my Modified Algebra 2 course.Canvas is the platform the district is using this year, so students and parents will be able to receive all course materials through this platform. As soon as a student is enrolled in one of my courses they will have access to the material I have published.A little bit about me:I am one of the Resource Room Math Teachers at Sequoia High School and teach classes for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in math. During the 2020/2021 academic year I will be teaching Modified Geometry and Modified Algebra 2. Modified Geometry is designed for students who have been successful with Modified Algebra, and Modified Algebra 2 is a senior level math class for students who have completed Modified Algebra and Modified Geometry. I provide individualized instruction of IEP math goals, and report progress four times per year.I have a bachelors degree in Physiology from U.C. Berkeley, a doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University, a teaching certificate from Western Washington University, and a special education endorsement from City University. As you might be able to tell, I love learning. Here is my video if you want to see more about meMaureen
