Welcome to the Third grade at Silver Lake Elementary! I want to introduce myself to you. My name is Kathie Van Fleet. I have a degree in Education from City University of Seattle and a Master’s in Literacy from Central Washington University. My interests include spending time with my family, reading, playing board games, my cats, my dog Sully, traveling, and I really like Disney. I am happy to say this is my 13^th year here at Silver Lake. I have previously taught at another school in Everett and a private school in Longview Washington my hometown.

          I expect this to be a great year for your student: a year of learning and growing. My goal is to provide a firm foundation in basic skills that are relevant, rigorous, engaging as well as personalized. To make this happen I want to make an effort now to develop a positive relationship with you. All of us, teacher, parents and student, will need to work together, respect one another, cooperate, assume responsibilities, and strive to communicate well.
