The Everett Public Schools Foundation was established as Citizens for Everett Public Schools Association in February, 1985 with the central goal "to support the educational programs of the Everett Public Schools." The organization was initiated by Dr. Rudy Johnson, then superintendent of the Everett Public Schools, and a group of interested citizens. Original founders included Bruce Lamus, President; Don Rider, Vice President, Shirley Level, Secretary, Myron Scougale, and Treasurer and Board Members, James Langus, Leroy Stave, Shirley Vandermeer, Nancy Weiss and Sam White. The foundation gained its non-profit status on May 23, 1985. The name was officially changed to the Everett Public Schools Foundation, February 4, 1992. As a community-based, non-profit foundation, the Foundation has an autonomous working relationship with the district. We are partners in education, maintaining a mutual strategic direction.
