Principal's Message

  • Dr. Betty Cobbs Dear Woodside Families,

The year is off to a great start! It has been wonderful reconnecting with our wonderful students and all of you. I especially welcome our many new families and I hope you are starting to feel a part of the Woodside  community. Please do not hesitate to introduce yourself if our paths  cross. I am excited about starting my third year as your principal.

I thank all of you for the smooth start to the school year. Our attendance at our annual “Back to School Night” on September 6th was outstanding and I know your efforts to come to this event helped get the year off to its smooth start.

Each of you received a First Day Packet. Please take time to review its contents and return the needed documents to the school. Most importantly, we need the most up to date contact information for all parents and guardians. This is important in situations where we may need to contact you during the school day. First Day Packet documents should be returned to your classroom teacher as soon as possible.

One of the most important things you can do to help your child succeed in school is to make sure he or she is there every day. When students miss school, they miss critical opportunities to learn and participate. Each lesson and class is critical to learning. The material covered each day depends on the lesson from the day before and introduces ideas for the next day. When your child must be absent, be sure to let us know the reason for the absences. For absences of five or more days, we ask for a written note from your doctor. Call the 24-hour attendance line at 425-385-7805 to report your child's absence.

I want to thank all our staff members for a smooth start to the school year. We are slowly settling in to a nice, productive learning environment. I want to also thank North Creek Presbyterian Church and their team of volunteers for making Woodside look beautiful.

Let’s have the best year ever!

    Dr. Betty J. Cobbs
