Monday, May 18. Yearbooks go on sale on Wednesday. Get yours if you haven't already!  Ceramics students: please read below to see my assignments.

Wednesday, May 6, 2020: Explore this website: Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). It has an excellent glossary of art terms, and many examples to explore. Search ceramics for examples of ceramic art. Stay healthy and happy! Miss all of you.

Monday, May 4, 2020: I have attached a homework assignment. Feel free to email me with questions. Grades will stand from March 13, but can be raised. I have contacted students who need to raise their grades. I have all your ceramics projects fired and ready to be glazed. I will be working on a video so you can stay engaged, and glaze your work next fall when we return to school. I miss you all!

April 29, 2020: Hi Everyone! I have uploaded in "files" my assignment, and added one new option. From what I understand, grades can not be lowered from where you were when school was cancelled, but can be raised up if you you work while at home. On the other hand,  I believe that you can never learn too much, so have fun exploring and looking at everything you can find about ceramics! Virtual museums, Youtube, Pinterest, etc. I will be contacting students individually who have no grades in my gradebook. (This is largely due to non-attendance). You will want to do all 3 assignments so you don't receive an Incomplete grade. This is important especially if you are a senior.

April 24, 2020. The yearbook is finished!

Ceramics students: Please search youtube for my video on slab contruction. How to make a mitred corner box with a lid. This would have been your next assignment. (search JHS ceramics). We had completed three assignments: a pinch pot animal, coil jar with a lid, and a pinch pot tea bowl before school closure. You can collect these projects next  year when we return to school. We had planned to do a glazing unit next. You might be able to come in and glaze your work next year. Take care everyone!

March 16, 2020. Ceramics students! I sent home an assignment on Friday that had two options for research and development. You can now do both options since we will be gone for six weeks now. Ceramic work with clay will resume when we return. Yearbook students will complete pages remotely and we will communicate via Remind. Take care and stay healthy.  I will share the ceramics assignment in Canvas.
