Welcome to our classroom distance learning portal!
We will miss you all very much during the school closure, but we are excited to see and hear about your creativity, perserverance and success as we learn together from a distance! You can use this website to find materials to practice math, reading and writing, and even to do some research projects of your own. You may be working on different things from day to day, but we will have a way for you to check in with your classmates and teachers every week to share your ideas, new learning, and book reviews. Beginning on Monday, March 23rd, and every Monday until school reopens, we will post new ideas, resources and websites for you to use.
When you log on to our website on Monday, make sure to hit the link for Google Classroom first, and watch the videos that you see posted on the classroom stream. You will learn how to log on to Flipgrid (so you can do video check-ins with your classmates), find and turn in assignments on Newsela, how to locate your weekly math practice and other printable resources, and hear about our research topic of the week (our first week will be Ancient Egypt!). If you ever have a question, or just want to say hi, we would love to hear from you. Just email us!
Parents: The first video posted on the Google Classroom stream will help orient you to the classroom website. However, only students have access to our Google Classroom, so you will need to have them log in first, and then you can watch the video together.
Stay healthy and happy learning!
