I love teaching and I am so excited to be your child's classroom teacher! This school year is going to be filled with lots of learning, hard work, and of course, tons of fun. While the first of the year will be virtual, our second grade team is going to do everything we can to make the online schooling experience engaging, fun, and full of learning!

    Mrs. Barhanovich

I thought you would like to know a little bit about me so…

I am married to my husband, Ben, who is a fifth grade teacher at Madison Elementary in Everett as well. We have a dog {Sandy} and a son {Emmett - 1 year old}. My hobbies include crafting, boating, and chasing after our son who is mastering the art of walking. The picture to the right is Emmett and I hiking near Bowman Bay (near Deception Pass) this summer.

I grew up in eastern Oregon on my family's farm where we raised cattle and a variety of crops {mostly alfalfa hay}. As the youngest of three and the only girl, I was raised much like my brothers and I quickly learned how to drive tractors, work hard, and be responsible. I later moved to the west coast where I attended and graduated from Western Oregon University. I moved to Everett in the spring of 2015 which is where Ben and I purchased our home.  I also have a  Masters of Art Degree in K-6 Mathematics from Western Governors University.

This will be my fourth year teaching second grade HC at Cedar Wood Elementary (WOW, time flies by!).

I love second grade because these students are hardworking and have a true love for learning! I teach with passion each day so that my students develop a desire to become lifelong learners.

I look forward to this great school year and all of the learning and accomplishments we will have together!
