Welcome to History!
I teach 6th grade Ancient Civilizations and 8th grade U.S. History. This is my third year at Eisenhower Middle School, and I am so excited for this upcoming school year! I am originally from a very small town in New England, but have been living out West for four years now. I have a Bachelor's Degree in History, Political Science, and Secondary Education from Saint Michael's College in Burlington, VT, and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Washinton: Seattle (Go Huskies!). I taught 7/8th History/ELA, worked in a variety of alternative middle school programs while in VT, and previously taught High School History/Social Studies in CT for multiple years before moving out west to attend UW. I I fell in love with the west coast and decided to stay after I finished my degree.
I love being outside and when I'm not in the classroom I'm out exploring the beautiful PNW hiking, kayaking, biking, or paddle boarding. I also love yoga, baking, cooking, and traveling. I hope to someday visit every state in the U.S., every U.S. National Park, and check off a more few countries too!
I'm excited to work together to make this year a great one. Please use my Google Sites (linked below) to find helpful resources for each unit, a class calendar with due dates, assignments, and a link to our online textbook. Please e-mail me or call me with any questions or concerns!
I am very excited to have your student in my class this year and am looking forward to a year full of learning, growth, and fun!
