Welcome to Jackson High School!
I have been teaching since 2003 in several subject content areas in grades 6-12 and at the college level. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. After five years, I went back to school and earned my Master of Education degree from Texas A&M University in Commerce. Before becoming a teacher, I worked in nursing for 10 years caring for patients of all ages in various medical settings. I knew very early in life that I wanted to help others and make a difference in our world!
I am passionate about teaching and working with students in many capacities. I believe that every student should be given an opportunity to learn with experiences that empower them to become life-long learners, and I want to be a part of that! All students are welcomed in a productive, caring, and supportive environment as WE learn and celebrate many "AH-HA" moments together!
I enjoy volunteering with the American Red Cross, Hungry Hearts Association, and as a member of the Kiwanis in the community. I also enjoy traveling, cooking gourmet foods, quilting/creative crafts, and attending various school activities. I moved to Washington in 2016 and still have so much to explore and experience outdoors! I have two adult children that reside in Dallas, Texas and a lab named Lacey.
I look forward to a year full of learning, growth, and development with many "AH-HA" moments together!
