Evergreen Watch D.O.G.S.
Evergreen encourages all dads and other male adult volunteers to become WatchDOGS. This national program is another way that parent volunteers serve the school. Dads and other adult male volunteers spend the entire day at school greeting students as they arrive, assisting in classrooms and helping supervise lunch and recesses. Many dads sign up on their child's birthday or their wedding anniversary.
There are three easy steps to serving as a Watch Dog at Evergreen Middle.
Step 1 - Become an approved Everett School District Volunteer
Every volunteer at Evergreen Middle must have current approval from the Everett School District. Unapproved volunteers will be turned away until they have completed the process. Approvals are good for three years. If you have not yet applied for volunteer approval or if your approval has expired you will need to complete the district volunteer process.
Step 2 - Pick a date
Evergreen can host up to two Watch D.O.G.S. volunteers each day. Please give us at least one week's notice so that we can schedule for your visit and give the teachers a heads-up. Once you've made a choice please email Linda Taylor ( firstname.lastname@example.org ). If your availability changes please email Linda Taylor and she will remove you from the schedule.
Step 3 - Enjoy your day at school
Please arrive at school at 7:30 AM to meet with Veronica Camez, Lindsay de Carteret, Shannon Morgan, Jessica Curtiss or Neelam Simpson ( the School Secretaries ) They will provide you with the official Watch D.O.G.S. shirt, a name badge, and your schedule for the day. You will enjoy a full day on campus including lunch with your student(s). Except for early release days the Watch Dog volunteer time ends at 12:50 PM.
Thank You for Volunteering.
