Hello Silver Firs students and families! I miss my students dearly and hope that you and your families are well and staying safe during these unprecedented times. This is my second year working as a speech-language pathologist (SLP) with Everett Public Schools. I received both my Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree from Western Washington University. I have a background working with a variety of age-groups ranging from early intervention birth-to-three services to adults with cognitive communication deficits and voice concerns. The majority of my clinical experience has been working with preschool and elementary-aged students. This year at Silver Firs, I am the primary SLP serving students in the developmental preschool program, provide services to walk-in preschool students, and serve a number of students grades K-5 for speech and language skills.
I am looking forward to working closely with students and families through online and virtual platforms during this time. I will do my best to answer questions and will be here to support you and your student with guidance from the distirct and special services department as we all navigate through these changes and continue to learn together. At this time, the special services department has stated that SLPs will not be providing direct services to students. However, we will be using online tools to provide you with useful resources, materials, activities, and home practice to keep your students engaged in learning new concepts and reinforcing their speech and langauge skills during this school closure. The SLP department of Everett Public Schools is working together to create a collective bank of at-home resources for your preschool and elementary-aged students. Please check back to this webpage for updated content, as I will be providing a link to these resources once they are finalized and published to the public.
At this time, EPS staff members are highly encouraged to work remotely from home. Given these circumstances, email is the best way to reach me. Thank you all for your patience and flexibility! I will provide you with updated information in the upcoming week. Take care, rest, and be well.
Warm Regards,
Molly Whipple, M.A., CCC-SLP
