    I am very excited to have your student in my class this year, and I am looking forward to a year full of learning and building strong relationships.

     

    About me:

     

    I was born and raised in Nebraska.  I moved to Washington more than 30 years ago. I have two children and one granddaughter.  I don’t have any pets at this time. I like to spend time outside whenever possible. I like to hike, bike, garden, bird watching, or play golf.  I really enjoy fiction, especially a good mystery.

    I have taught English Learners (EL) for over 30 years. I graduated from the University of WA with my Masters in English as a Second Language. I have taught EL Kindergarten - 12th grade different times throughout my career. 

     My educational experiences instilled a passion in me for educating children. I have the desire to empower children to look beyond their circumstances and see themselves as valued members of their community. I want to unlock a child’s potential by providing her with the tools and knowledge to succeed in whatever she chooses.
