Welcome to Hawthorne Music Online learning

  • Kimberly Demetre's photo Please log on to your CANVAS PAGE.  Click on MUSIC course card for your grade level.  It is a course card on your canvas desktop.  Open the course card.  Read the homepage carefully.  Click on the music keyboard button to go to my google classroom independent lessons and assignments at least once a week independently.

I will be able to answer all of your questions inside the google classroom in the comments thread. There are links in the google classroom stream for music activities and assignments.  Please make a comment so I can respond.  Don't forget to ask a question if something is not working for you.  If you need tech help, I can set up a live zoom and you can share your screen with me, with your parent.

Please email me if you need help with tech issues.

I will be doing a live music zoom with classes once a week on a four week consecutive rotating schedule.  We are starting with schedule "A" for live zooms.  Please see my home page and click the zoom link under your teacher's name.  Your classroom teachers will let you know when your classroom is having four weeks of live music zoom as well.  It will always be listed on my home page in the music canvas course card.

(I change the zoom schedule every four weeks.)

The specialist zoom schedule starts on Wednesday, 9/16/2020.

I was inspired to become a K-12 Music Educator by participating in my school Music Programs when I was growing up. My Parents were Public School Teachers, Administrators and Coaches. I also enjoy singing, performing, writing and recording music professionally. I received my Bachelors of Fine and Performing Arts in Vocal Music from Cornish College of the Arts. I then attended and graduated from the University of Washington to receive my K-12 Music teaching certificate.I have since attended graduate courses at the University of Washington, Seattle Pacific University and the University of Puget Sound. My Washington State teaching endorsements are in  K-12 General Music and K-12 Choral Music. I have earned a Level 3 certification in Orff Schulwerk from Seattle Pacific University. I am proud Mother of two children and a very spoiled "Puggle" Dog, Maggie. I love living, playing, singing and teaching vocal music in the Pacific Northwest and enjoy teaching Elementary Music to the children of Hawthorne, being part of a dedicated staff and Multicultural learning community.
