Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!
I'm excited to be teaching this year, even under the constraints of remote learning. We'll explore together and find ways to learn that fit the situation.
CANVAS will be the platform to access for the latest information about classroom activities and support.
It can be accessed from JHS or Everett Public Schools Websites or the Quicklinks on the right side of this page. (Parents/Guardians here is the link
for you to access Canvas from Everett Public Schools)
I will also be communicating via email and Canvas announcements and messaging. You can communicate with me using email (email@example.com) or Canvas Messaging. I will be checking both during the day.
Please be patient with me and yourselves as we work through these experiences.
My calendar listing assignments and test dates is also on Canvas
My gradebook is updated regularly. You can sign up to get email notifications from the gradebook, as well.
My schedule this year:
1st Period: AVID 10/11
2nd Period: Prep
3rd Period: Biology and the Environment
4th Period: Instructional Technology Facilitator
5th Period: Biology and the Environment
6th Period: Biology and the Environment
I also advise the Project Green Club - our school's environmental group which installed a native plants garden, coordinates the can/bottle recycling and plans to do more sustainability projects.
After graduating from Virginia Tech with a BS in Biology and getting my teaching certificate from University of Missouri-St. Louis, I took 18 years off to raise my four wonderful daughters. In 2014 I completed my Masters in Education from University of Washington-Bothell and my National Board Certification. I have been working in Everett School District for 16 years and this is my 12th year at JHS. Go Wolves!
My husband and I travel, visit our grandchildren and attend various sporting and theater events. My dog, Indy, and I also volunteer with Reading with Rover.
I love to work with families and students. Use my email
) or my classroom phone (425-385-7185), to contact me with any comments, questions or concerns.
