Kindergarten FAQs

Everett Ready

In Everett Public Schools, Kindergarten starts with Everett Ready!

Everett Ready is a transition program offered in August for all students preparing to enter kindergarten in the fall. It provides an opportunity  to become familiar with the school campus, the staff, and kindergarten peers. The program supports positive experiences for all students and families with time and space to learn school routines and practices before the start of school and the arrival of first to fifth grade students.

Everett Ready will be held from Monday, August 24 to Thursday, August 27, 2026* for three hours in the morning (starting at your child's school start time ). Any changes to the program dates will be updated on this page in August.

Registration to attend Everett Ready is required. Please complete the Registration Form and email it to P-5earlylearning@everettsd.org or deliver it to your child's school. Transportation is provided if your child lives more than a half-mile walking distance from school and is registered to attend Everett Ready before July 28, 2026.

Registration Form

Note: A Registration Form is not required if you have marked your child as attending the program on the online enrollment form.  However, a Registration Form is required if your initial response on the enrollment form was 'No' or 'Unknown at this time'.

*We anticipate the first day of school to be the Wednesday before Labor Day. As it is a bargaining year and the student calendar & Everett Ready dates are part of that, we may not have official confirmation on the date until this summer.
