Policy Review Council

Provide guidance and recommendations to the superintendent on the development of new board policies and procedures, as well as updating existing board policies and procedures.

The development of school board policies and procedures is guided by federal and state legislation, the district’s strategic plan and local needs.

The Washington State School Directors Association (WSSDA) also provides guidance to school districts through periodic newsletters and draft policies.

Proposed policy actions are reviewed by the superintendent’s executive cabinet prior to the superintendent submitting a recommendation to the school board for their information and action.
