Special Education Advisory Council
Purpose
The Special Education Advisory Council partners with families, educators, and community members to support students with disabilities and enhance inclusive practices.
The council provides input on programs, shares resources, and advises the district on ways to improve services and outcomes for all learners.
Serve as a proactive source of advocacy and support for children with special needs; foster a culture of equity and inclusion for special education throughout the district; provide guidance and recommendations to align special education services and long-range planning to programmatic priorities driven by student learning.
The Special Education Advisory Council specifically reviews and provides feedback on:
- Communications and relationships among the district, parents and the community
- Long-range strategic planning for special education
- Systems to support special education students and programs
