What Every Parent Needs to Know Video Series

The Everett PTSA Council collaborated with Everett Public Schools staff and Washington Family Engagement to develop video resources for families which provide fundamental information to navigate school systems, advocate for their student(s), and actively participate in public education.

The project of five videos, entitled "What Every Parent Needs to Know," provides an overview of topics that parents felt were essential for building a foundation for authentic parent and family engagement.

The initial material was created by Washington Family Engagement and further reviewed by parent and community groups, as well as Everett School District staff, to ensure accuracy, relevancy, and access. The videos were recorded by various district staff and are available below, with subtitles in Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, and Arabic.

Presentations given in Spanish are available below as well under "Lo Que Todo Padre Debe Saber."

Video topics include:

  • Student Education Rights
  • Get Engaged in Your Children's Education
  • What to Do About Bullying
  • Advocating for Your Student
  • Understanding the School System
