Family & Community Engagement

Family engagement has been shown to boost student achievement and attendance.  Creating a supportive and connected network around a child can have the following outcomes:

• Higher grades and test scores
• Fewer behavioral concerns
• Stronger social skills and emotional health
• Higher rates of graduation
• Quality relationships between parents/caregivers and teachers

Families can be engaged in a variety of ways, including volunteering at school and attending events.  Some other ways to engage include:

• Setting steady routines at home for school work and sleep
• Attending conferences and in-person meetings
• Sharing feedback often, through surveys, parent nights and school events
• Checking your student's grades and classroom happenings on ParentVue and ParentSquare
• Continuing the learning at home (ask teachers for how you can help your student)
