Paraeducator Certificate Program

Paraeducator Resources

In 2019, the Washington State Legislature and the Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB) developed new statewide requirements for paraeducators, including the Paraeducator Certificate Program and Fundamental Course of Study.

In accordance with the agreement between Everett Public Schools and the Everett Association of Paraeducators (EAP), all paraeducators employed by the district are required to meet the training requirements and timelines established by the Washington State Paraeducator Certificate Program. Specifically, paraeducators must complete the Fundamental Course of Study (FCS) 28-hour training and subsequently obtain the General Paraeducator Certificate within five (5) years of completing the FCS training.

For detailed information regarding these requirements, staff should refer to the EAP Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Contact Patty Tetrault by email  or by calling 425-385-4132 for paraeducator training support.
