We have a new Principal for next school year!

Katrina “Tina” Farias has been selected as the incoming principal of View Ridge Elementary!

Ms. Farias completed her administrative internship at View Ridge this year with Mr. Lenseigne. She served for two years as View Ridge’s reading specialist having come from seven years as a third and fifth grade teacher at Penny Creek Elementary.

Ms. Farias is a UW Husky through and through; having earned her Bachelors, Masters and Principal Certification all on UW main campus in Seattle.

During her internship Tina worked alongside Mr. L to redesign the building instructional team so that teacher leaders would be empowered to serve at data overview meetings, inquiry discussions, and to analyze data at staff meetings--all focused on aligning grade-level and PLC team work. Ms. Farias' work through her internship has added to her knowledge of and ability to coach teachers on effective teaching methodologies and practices.

Please join us all in welcoming Ms. Farias as our new principal for the 2016-17 school year and beyond!

Kindergarten registration for the 2016-17 school year has started!

Although this school year is not yet finished, it is time to register for kindergarten for next fall.

Children who will be 5 years old by Aug. 31, 2016, are eligible to begin kindergarten in September. To ensure that teachers and classrooms are ready, district elementary schools start registering kindergarteners early. Registration materials are available via the district website and at all elementary schools.

And remember...View Ridge is now a 100% All Day Kindergarten program school!
