Are there directions for logging into the district Chromebook?
Hello Families,
In Quickstart Chromebook you will find the keys to logging in. Please know that student log ins (their name is their ID#) only work on district Chromebooks and laptops. Parent LMS accounts are for access to system tools like Gradebook, website, Home Access Center and Canvas Parent Ap.

Can I find out more about how to get or use a wi-fi hotspot from the district?
The T-Mobile hotspots have unlimited data and can support several devices, so only one per family is needed.
The support for internet access at home page of the district website has links for how to connect to a home network.
The instructions are the same for connecting to the wireless network generated by the hotspot.
- This name, called a SSID, is printed on a label attached to the hotspot.
- The password is also printed on a label attached to the hotspot.
- The hotspots will advertise a wireless network named “Coolpad Surf ####” or “Franklin T9 ####”.
You can also connect the hotspot directly to both Windows and Chromebook devices using a micro-USB cable in addition to connecting wirelessly.
- The Coolpad Surf hotspots have a modular charger included so the USB cable can be unplugged from the charger and plugged into the computer.
- The Franklin T9 hotspots do not have a modular charger, so the family would need to provide their own micro-USB cable for this purpose.
- The hotspot will still advertise the wireless network while plugged in via USB so other family members may connect wirelessly at the same time.

As a parent/guardian, how can I see grades, attendance, assignments online?
First step is to set-up your LMS Guardian account.
If you are newly enrolled and you provided your email to the school, please look for an email from LMS@everettsd.org with subject “Welcome Parent / Guardian to Everett Public Schools” to start setting up your parent/guardian account. This account will give you access to Gradebook, Home Access Center and Canvas to support your student. More information can be found on the A+ Grades icon.
If you cannot find this email anymore, open a Tech Support Ticket. We will respond with your login/password by email. Our system will only send information to the email on file with the school.

How do I reset my elementary student's password?
Here are directions for how students can change their passwords from home on their district chromebooks.
-
How do I update my phone number or email with the school?
You can make changes to the phone number of your child or your own contact information if you are a guardian who lives with the student. If you are a guardian with web access, you can update your own phone number online at Home Access Center. Go to the "Registration" tab, then go to the "Update Enrollment" tab, select the "Annual Update Form" or "Student Update Short Form".
For all other information updates you will need to contact your student’s school. Additional guardian(s) whom you would like to authorize to have access to student information online require the primary guardian to contact the school. All additional guardians should be prepared to show personal identification and parenting plan, if applicable.

There are several key steps to troubleshooting steps you can try before completing the form requesting support.
If family members share a computer it is often necessary to clear the cache before the next user logs in to a digital resource.
If using a tool that has a google account log in, make certain you have logged out of any personal google accounts on that device or try incognito mode.

How do I access or help my child access a hosted meeting in Zoom?
Zoom is best accessed through Canvas. Teachers have course specific information, Zoom links, and passwords there.
The Zoom app is installed on all district devices. Students can also access Zoom from a web browser, if they are on a device that does not have the app downloaded.
-
What if we are having challenges with Zoom on our Chromebooks?
For some of our student Chromebooks they are struggling with Zoom audio and video reliability. This is an issue that Zoom is aware of and working on a long-term solution for schools using Chromebooks. There are some recommendations teachers can use when using Zoom if they should experience problems. It is the combination of audio and video that is the struggle.
For students:
- Shutdown (power button) and restart your Chromebook every morning.
- Ensure you have a strong WIFI signal on Chromebook.
- Ensure your computer is fully charged and plugged into a power outlet.
- Ensure the computer is positioned to provide proper ventilation to avoid CPU overheating.
- Close all unused/non-active browser tabs in your browser.
- Mute your microphone in Zoom, use the microphone only when speaking. Use Zoom chat.
- Use the Speaker View only, not the Gallery View in Zoom.
- If the above does not work, try turning off your camera in Zoom.
