• SOS

The SOS Signs of Suicide Prevention Program will be presented to Evergreen students in PE classes on October 16th this year. The SOS presentation is a part of a program used in Everett and surrounding school districts to promote awareness and prevention. During this presentation, students will learn the signs and symptoms of depression and suicide. They will also understand the three steps of ACT (Acknowledge, Care and Tell). Students will also have the opportunity to talk with an Evergreen Counselor or School Psychologist if after the presentation; they have a concern regarding themselves or friends.

If a parent or guardian does not want their student to participate in this lesson, Opt Out forms excusing students from the presentation will be available in the main office by October 2nd. The Opt Out forms must be signed by a parent/guardian and returned to the main office by October 10th. Students who do not participate in the lesson will be assigned to an area for quiet study during their PE period on this day.

    After School Reminder!

Evergreen MS is a closed campus from 30 minutes after school ends until 4:30pm each day—it is only an open campus after 4:30 pm to allow for evening sports to occur. We expect every student to promptly leave campus at the end of each day, unless the student is staying for an after school program that is supervised by an adult, like Study Club or an extra-curricular activity. The students participating in after school clubs or study club may take the Activity Bus home at 3:10 pm. Students that participate in sports may take the Athletic Bus home at 4:30 pm. If your student is not involved in athletics, then they should not return to school at 4:30 to meet with friends. Our #1 priority is student safety and therefore prefer for them to be home when it is dark, cold, and school-related activities are done.
