  • Evergreen Orientation 2019:

                            paw prints     timberwolf     paw prints

Orientation is coming up fast! The intent of the gatherings is to provide students with their class schedules and teacher assignments, learn about clubs and after school opportunities, tour the building, and have student pictures taken for the yearbook and ASB cards. The orientations are by grade level and alphabetical by last name.  We divided the times because our goal is to be present to answer questions and not have families standing in long lines. We realize that summer vacations happen and you might need to attend at an alternative time.  Do not worry!  Stop by the school after August 23 and pick up your student’s schedule.

  • New cell phone policy

The use of cell phones in the classroom can distract students from instruction, yet can be important to have accessible in case of emergency. With this in mind, the district has adopted a new policy 3246 and procedure 3246P which prohibits cell phone use in the classroom while still providing access for students in case of emergency.

Middle school students who choose to bring cell phones to school may only use them before or after the school day. During the school day, they must be powered off and stored (e.g., in the student’s backpack, locker, other district provided storage). There will be storage in the classroom so, in the event of an emergency, the cell phones will be accessible without leaving the classroom.

  • After School Reminder!

Evergreen MS is a closed campus from 30 minutes after school ends until 4:30pm each day—it is only an open campus after 4:30 pm to allow for evening sports to occur. We expect every student to promptly leave campus at the end of each day, unless the student is staying for an after school program that is supervised by an adult, like Study Club or an extra-curricular activity. The students participating in after school clubs or study club may take the Activity Bus home at 3:10 pm. Students that participate in sports may take the Athletic Bus home at 4:30 pm. If your student is not involved in athletics, then they should not return to school at 4:30 to meet with friends. Our #1 priority is student safety and therefore prefer for them to be home when it is dark, cold, and school-related activities are done.
