Over the last few weeks, we have watched and read news coverage of anti-racism protests across the U.S. and around the world. This has been a result of George Floyd losing his life due to police brutality. The powerful message in these protests is Black Lives Matter. We are listening. As educators, we hear the voices of our students and families, and we are committed to collaborating with our district to promote a place where students feel safe, respected for their differences and heard.
Now, more than ever, schools are the heart of our community. Investing in our schools continues our focus on not only academics, but the well-being of every student in our district. The school board has recognized that need and decided to put the $317.4 million bond that was to run in April, on the August 4, 2020 ballot. Find out more by clicking the link above.
With the district-wide closure of Everett Public Schools, we have created a website that includes an initial set of materials intended to support students’ engagement in learning. The materials do not replace the experience of being in school but can help students maintain the learning that has taken place this school year. Click the headline to visit the page.
We are committed to providing access to the nutrition Everett Public School students need during an extended emergency district wide closure. We will be offering meals for pick up at a total of 23 school sites and at least 5 apartment complexes. Please click link for more information.
If your child will be five years old by August 31, 2020, it’s time to register for kindergarten! Online registration is available on the district website. Register now to access information about your school’s kindergarten program and receive a parent resource and children’s book “Kindergarten, Here I Come!” Registration also reserves your child’s spot in Everett Ready, our transition-into-kindergarten program scheduled for August 17-21, at our elementary schools. Contact EarlyLearning@everettsd.org with any questions.
The pathway is now open.
