Welcome to Ms. Park's Class
I am excited to join the Tambark Creek Elementary team of educators. I believe that a good learning experience is built on a cooperative effort between parent, child and teacher. I look forward to working with students and families as the Math Coach.
I graduated in 2004 from the University of Washington and then studied to receive my Master in Teaching from the UW in 2006. I recieved my Professional Certification through Seattle Pacific University in 2011. I have had the opportunity to teach in South Korea and Uzbekistan working with students from diverse backgrounds –both in Korean and English. I have been with Everett Public Schools since 2006. I have taught at Penny Creek Elementary in first and second grades and worked as a math specialist and librarian at Woodside Elementary.
Outside of school, I am busy with my three kids. We spend our weekends at soccer games, gymnastics and making music together. We love to sing, play guitar, drum and jam together. I look forward to a meaningful year of learning together.
During summer break, please consider visiting the different resources listed on my webpage and participate in the SUMMER MATH CHALLENGE. Engage in meaningful math activities at home, making math tic-tac-toe, modify a classic card game (war with numbers, math facts), plan a dinner party on a budget using current grocery flyers to caclulate money, make an itineray for a dream trip to calculate distance and elasped time. Making math meaningful through real life experiences allow students to be engaged!
