The Risk & Compliance Services office provides district-wide services and support to minimize risks and ensure compliance with district policies and procedures, as well as with state regulatory reporting requirements for district lobbying and public records activities. Our General Counsel provides legal advice and assistance to the district through its board of directors, superintendent, and administrators to support legal compliance across all district operations. The Public Records Specialist serves as the district's Public Records Officer and is responsible for managing and responding to public records requests, and ensuring compliance with the Public Records Act and other federal and state statutes. The Risk Management Specialist serves as the district's liaison to the Washington Schools Risk Management Pool for property and liability claims, is responsible for claims management and provides guidance for compliance with district-approved activities. In addition, our office provides service and support for responses to subpoenas, student records requests, field trips, and records management. The Risk & Compliance Services office is committed to providing services and assistance in a collegial, positive, and professional manner.
