Welcome to 1st grade!
My name is Natalie Rodriguez, this is my second year teaching at Emerson Elementary, and I’m excited to share that I’ve transitioned into the Dual Language program after starting my first year in a traditional English classroom. Last year, I taught 1st grade entirely in English, building a strong foundation in classroom management, routines, and early literacy. This year, I’m teaching in both English and Spanish, helping students develop bilingual skills and cultural awareness. I am committed in creating a safe and inclusive environment where students feel safe and valued as well as being able to explore and grow both academically and socially. I'm looking forward to another great year of learning together!
About Mrs. Rodriguez
I graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor's degree in Education and an endorsement in English as a Second Language. As a first-generation daughter of immigrant parents from Mexico, I take great pride in my cultural roots and the values they’ve instilled in me. My background has inspired my passion for education and supporting multilingual learners. In my free time, I enjoy reading, attending soccer games with family and friends, and watching movies to relax and unwind. These hobbies help me stay balanced and bring joy and creativity into my daily life and teaching.
Me gradué de la Universidad de Washington con una licenciatura en Educación y una certificación en Inglés como Segundo Idioma. Como hija de padres inmigrantes de México y primera generación en mi familia, me siento muy orgullosa de mis raíces culturales y de los valores que me han inculcado. Mi experiencia personal ha inspirado mi pasión por la educación y por apoyar a los estudiantes multilingües. En mi tiempo libre, disfruto leer, asistir a partidos de fútbol con mi familia y amigos, y ver películas para relajarme y desconectarme. Estos pasatiempos me ayudan a mantener el equilibrio y a traer alegría y creatividad a mi vida diaria y a mi enseñanza.
