The Woodside Student Council is sponsoring a Pennies for Patients® campaign at our school from May 26-29 to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Each year, more than 12,000 children are diagnosed with cancer – equivalent to two classrooms of children diagnosed each day. More than 5,000 of these cases are blood cancer.  Students learn compassion while working to “change” these statistics through Pennies for Patients. For the past 17 years students across the country have shown how much of an impact they can have by raising more than $261 million to fund breakthrough therapies and patient services; and more than $28 million in 2013-2014 alone!

We ask that students please bring in pennies, spare change or any amount to support the cause. Estimates indicate that there is $10.5 billion in loose change sitting idle in American households! Look between couch cushions, under the seats in your car or in your family’s junk drawer. You can also send checks made payable to LLS or Pennies for Patients. The top fundraising classroom at Woodside Elementary will win a Popsicle Party!

Thank you for your partnership in making a difference in the lives of local blood cancer patients. One little penny makes one BIG difference!   If you have any questions, you can contact us at alantis@everettsd.org and glynch@everettsd.org.

If any parent or other involved adults want to volunteer to help with our Field Day fun stations, they can sign up here:
Adults do NOT have to be PTA members to volunteer.
But, adults DO have to have completed a background check through the school district.
This process takes a few days and is good for up to 2 years.   To start the process, submit a "Volunteer Application" form online here:
Thank you for your continued support in making Woodside a GREAT PLACE TO LEARN!!

    Woodside is Proud!!!

Woodside is one of 5 schools in the district to be awarded the 2013 Washington State Achievement Award by OSPI.  This is our 4th award in 4 years!!!  Woodside is a great place to learn.

Where is the calendar for 2015-16?

The calendar for next school year is part of the negotiations process with the teachers’ bargaining unit. Negotiations for that contract will begin in April. During negotiations, the school calendar will be established. The district will use the website, email, phone and text messaging system as well as media announcements to announce the calendar when contract negotiations are complete.
