The NCAA Clearinghouse–the division that approves student course work for athletic eligibility for colleges–has approved the Everett Public School’s HS Online Options as a course provider.
New legislation regarding “nontraditional” coursework (defined as online, correspondence, independent study, software-based credit recovery etc.) was passed which outlined stringent criteria that must be met in order for a course to be used for NCAA initial eligibility purposes.
The application process was facilitated by Becky Ballbach (Curriculum Specialist-Challenging Options, SES, 504, School Counselors, Intervention Specialists, & NCAA Compliance Officer) and Terry Edwards (former EPS Chief Academic Officer).
What does this mean?
HS Online Options courses count towards the required core curriculum for Division 1 Scholarship prospects.
